Run 879 is the Cancer run and will be in Taman Bukit Idaman Selayang, the area is also known as Taman Bidara (Jalan Bidara) Selayang. The landmark is the Selayang Hospital. Guest fee is RM30.00.
Run directions: Take Jalan Kuching and head north. After you pass the Selayang Wholesale Market (which should be on your right!), look out for an overhead bypass junction with signs reading “Kepong” and “Selayang Hospital”. Exit into this bypass which will go up a ramp and you will come to a set of traffic lights. Turn left toward Kepong. About half a km down, you will pass the Selayang Hospital on your right. Another half km and you will come to a set of traffic lights. Turn right here and immediately you will see a Shell Station on your left. The run site is behind this Shell station so turn left before this Shell station and look out for Hash signs. Click on the map image below to enlarge it. The Cancer Run was held on July 4, which incidentally was Independance Day in the US. The run site was a rather off-beaten track in Taman Bukit Idaman, Selayang. About 50 eager hashers gathered at 6pm to the call of on on by the GM. The trail was indeed an ardous one with hills that kept going up and up. A shorter version of the full trail was availed to hashers who were not able to complete the full version. The last of the runners were escorted out by ‘sweeper’ past GM Charles at 8.30pm. The OC, Chandra led by her experienced team of Cancerian hashers (Michel & Ganesan, the hares) put up a fine showing with good food and a birthday cake organised by Sharad, plenty of drinks and overall merriment which went on past midnight. A big thank you to the Cancerian team, Indeed a Zodiac theme run to be remembered for the year. On On.
